🚶🏾‍♀️About yesterday.

Post monsoon season here in the beautiful State of AZ. Had an itch to get outside and just go for a walk. Equipped with my AirPods and enjoying my view. I just used this time to just embrace my surroundings.

I didn’t worry about the dishes I still needed to clean, the laundry I needed to wash, or anything that was going to keep me from enjoying this moment. Because, there will ALWAYS be something that needs to get done, but you have to CHOOSE to make time for yourself whether it’s for your mind, your body, or your soul.
.
.
For the last three months of 2018, I’m doing more of the things that I really enjoy doing. Some I’ll post and share. Some, I won’t.
.
.
Some, are simple as just painting my nails. Because one, I’ve always enjoyed doing that and two, because I have so many that I’ve never opened. Which I find to be absolutely ridiculous and it’s time to change that.

.
Another, I have three books I’m going to read. One book a month. Simple enough. I’m not going to be “so busy” to stop doing the things I love. There is ALWAYS work to do, but when do we stop ourselves and truly get off the hamster wheel?

5k Run for the Zoo Recap & Mini Life Update

Hi Honeybees!

Well, I completed my 5k on Sunday, May 7th. My parents were there to cheer me on. I have to admit, it wasn’t pretty. Even with my six week training, it was rough.

However, even with my not so graceful performance, I am glad that I did it. Now that I am 31 years old, I have to make it a conscious effort to continue to incorporate fitness into my lifestyle.

Gone are the days of my volleyball practices and regimented workouts with someone coaching you on what to do.

Any excuse is better than none, however, if I am not physically fit, I know that other aspects in my life will suffer. There are plenty of days where I do not want to go to the gym, but I still go and manage to complete a workout.

5k Training Week 3 & 4

Hi Honey Bees,

Happy Sassy Sunday!

I am combining week three and week four of my 5k training into one post. I hope you do not mind. Ever feel like life just gets away from you? Or if feels as though there is not enough time in the day?

I hope I am not alone in the feeling. Life is a balancing act and I have not been juggling it very well.

On a positive note, I am finally running 2.5 miles. I am working on my speed more than anything. Building up my leg and core strength. Consistently drinking a gallon of water daily. Craving carbs, like crazy.

I am keeping my warmups to about five minutes to focus my intent for my workout and work on my breathing.

I am enjoying the endorphins I am feeling after my run. Feels good to move.

This week I am experiencing spring fever. I am aggressively editing my life in regards to things, eating, and people. I am taking this time to streamline my habits to be a lot more simple.

I hope this week, you make time for the things and people that truly matter.
