Hi Honey Bees,
If you follow me on instagram or snapchat (@sassy_curls), you already know that I have decided to train for a 5k.
The last time I ran a 5k was in 2012. http://sassycurls.com/2012/08/ I know, time to change that. This time around, I am training alone.
I am sharing my journey on my social media platforms. I knew that announcing my desire to train again, I would not quit or choose to postpone the training. We have heard it all before, always set your goals with a deadline.
I have six weeks until the race. I signed up for the timed group. This event I hope will build up my competitive spirit again and act as a confidence builder, so I can train for a 10k in October.
Week one of training consisted of:
Tuesday: run 10 mins – treadmill | weights & stretch
Wednesday: 30 mins stair master, weights, abs, stretch
Thursday: run 13 mins – treadmill
Friday: 30 mins stair master, weights, abs, stretch
Saturday: 1 mile – outside
Sunday: cardio, sauna
These ham hocks that I call thighs, have not felt this sore in awhile. Getting out of bed was a chore today. I literally feel every muscle in my body.
I would rather feel the soreness and the pain now, than be the last one through the finish line.
